The story behind the picks

I'm Melissa Bajda, co-founder and Chief Gifting Officer at Groovy Girl Gifts. I've spent the last decade-plus helping people find personalized gifts for the women they love — daughters, wives, sisters, moms, best friends, mothers-in-law. After years of running Groovy Guy Gifts with my husband Chris, we kept hearing the same question from customers: "do you have something like this, but for her?" That's how Groovy Girl Gifts started.

Why personalized gifts matter

A gift card or a generic present says "I had to get you something." A personalized gift says "I thought about you." Every product on our site can be engraved, monogrammed, or customized with names, dates, or photos. We design and produce most of our pieces in-house with our own laser engravers, embroidery machines, and printing equipment — the same workshop that built our flagship men's gift business.

How I write our gift guides

When I put together a gift-guide blog post on Groovy Girl Gifts, I'm thinking about specific people in my own life and asking: would I send this to my sister? My mom? My best friend on her birthday? Every product I recommend has to pass the personal test first. I'd rather feature 14 great picks than 50 mediocre ones.

For products outside our own catalog (handmade pieces on Etsy, specialty items on Amazon), I look for sellers with thousands of happy customers, beautiful product photography, and inventory that stays in stock. The goal is for you to land on a gift idea, click through, and feel confident hitting "Buy Now."
