I'm Chris Bajda. I started Groovy Girl Gifts in 2013 alongside my wife Melissa, after years of running Groovy Guy Gifts and getting the same email from customers over and over: "this is great for him, but where's the equivalent for my wife, sister, daughter, mom?" Groovy Girl Gifts was the answer.

How I approach gift recommendations

I'm a guy writing about gifts for women, which sounds like it should be a disqualification. But it turns out the customer for "gifts for her" content is usually another guy. Husband shopping for wife's anniversary. Son shopping for mom's birthday. Boyfriend shopping for girlfriend's Valentine's Day. I write the guides I needed when I was that customer.

My picks lean toward the personalized, sentimental, clearly-thought-about end of the spectrum. I avoid the kind of gift you can grab at any drugstore. If a product is on this site, it's because I'd hand it to my wife and not feel embarrassed about it.
